Stories
Old Africa's content is built around stories. Stories tell the personal side of history. Old Africa features stories from people from all races and all walks of life - a British governor on Safrai getting stuck in the mud, a Dorobo hunter shooting a cow-killing lion with his bow and arrow, Kikuyu farmers caught up in the maelstrom of Mau Mau and conflicting loyalites, Indian merchants braving dangers to bring commerce to all corners of East Africa, missionaries hiking rugged miles to preach the Gospel, district officers serving the empire in the desert, African soldiers marching at the queen's coronation, European farmers persevering to grow crops in the African bush and much more. Old Africa retells these stories so the past won't be forgotten.
Vintage Photographs
Old photos tell stories. Rickshaws in Mombasa. Harley-Davidson motorcycles on Safari by the Tsavo Bridge. Railways, people, animals, scenery. Old Africa presents visual images of East Africa's past to illustrate the stories we tell and to tell stories of their own.
