Old Africa Magazine

Old Africa publishes stories, personal memories, and vintage photographs to recapture East Africa's recent history. With 32 pages of content, the stories in Old Africa transport readers to an earlier era from the time of Western interest and exploration in the area up to the mid-1960s.

World-wide readership

Produced in Kenya and drawing on personal stories from writers from all backgrounds who have East African connections, the magazine is quickly attracting a world-wide readership.

Published every two months

The first issue of Old Africa appeared in October 2005. Published bimonthly, the magazine comes out every two months - six colourful issues per year.

Remembered history

It is important not to forget or lose remembered history. Old Africa is committed to to collecting the stories and photos of East Africa's past. The stories retold in Old Africa are a tribute to the land and the characters from all cultures who have called East Africa home.

Stories from a previous generation

Old Africa features stories that are about 40 years in the past or earlier. Anything that has happened in the past could be called history, but 40 years is the biblical and traditional period that marks a generation. Old Africa will focus on the world of a previous generation.
